ok well i guess i accidently tested dishsoap as a riding drink today. not on purpose, just didn't rinse good enough.

pros:

i didn't get out one swear word the whole trail.

clean mouth and teeth.

bubble blowing without gum.

no need to wash out your bottle, just rinse

cons:

blowing bubbles without gum.

taste, yukkk.

makes you thirsty and you drink more, yukkkk.

so today was "E.I." day. easy intervals. rode up rattlesnake gulch about a hundred times. from the parking lot to the first big rock. keeping heart rate below 170, in easiest gear, locked out front fork and tire pressure at 45 psi. good palce to practice steep/loose rocks trail riding(my weakness). in the easiest gear its a challenge just staying upright. i usualy never get in this gear so my ultra slow skills could use some practice along with the rear tire constantly losing traction.

breakdown: 4x10mins at 170 hr and do seven of these with 2 mins between the seven sets doing circles in the parking lot. hr gets down to 100 hr in lot.

ahh memories of the coach taking away our big chainring for the winter. of course we could just put on another one, but then we would be kicked off the team. at the end of winter we get our big ring back and get the small ring taken away for the first part of the spring. then we get to do hill training. kept us on non steep hills for awhile until you got strong enough to climb in the big ring. talk about honest training. yeah well i got knee and back problems too now.

what did this do? kept us from racing with other groups, low intensity rides, rides of longer miles, since intensity was down. we would try to do supa steep hills, but just coming outta the racing season, we were in too good of shape. only thing we could do was ride around in zone 2-3. which is excactly what he wanted.

anyways i digress. this is a hard workout for me to keep things at a lower level. i think sometimes that i explode into the spring and summer from holding back all winter. kinda like the first time you had sex.

its tough with friends taunting me to do rides with them and getting baited to race around and up hills. i think they just wanna show me off in front of their friends sometimes.

winter can get lonely riding by myself. metal note to self, find slower riders to ride with in winter.....

doing this workout i know freaks people out as i am hovering in the parking lot and just riding the first steep part of the trail, while most people are riding the trail for fun. the hikers are annoyed because i gotta pass them alot and the bikers are confused why i turned around so soon. just another poser in lycra on a fancy bike.

the pic above is not the trail i rode today, but i didn't have a pic of rattlesnake gulch. it is steep and rooty. i like doing that section too.

pandora.com is pissing me off. why can't it just play what i programed.......rant over.
